About Laura

Hi, I'm Laura Forrest.  I trained as an osteopath following a 15 year career in clinical research where I witnessed that medical and pharmaceutical treatments don't always address all aspects of an individuals pain and discomfort.

I feel it is important to look at the whole person and body when treating a condition.

I am an award winning osteopath, member of the General Osteopathic Council, Mummy MOT practitioner,

paediatric specialist, first aid trained, fully insured & enhanced CRB checked.

I have lots of life experience that I feel helps me relate to people who contact me for help.  I am a keen sports person who regularly runs and participates in obstacle course racing.  I am a parent to three children and have experienced the highs and lows of pregnancy.  I have also been on the journey of long term illness with close family members.  All these experiences have shaped my thought process and attutide to living.

I believe that we can optimise our bodies to facilitate and encourage a full enjoyable life.

I look forward to meeting you!

What is osteopathy?

Osteopaths are allied health care professionals like physiotherapists and dentists. Osteopathy is a primary health care system, complementary to other medical practices and focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders, and the effects of these conditions on patients' general health. It is suitable for almost anyone and can contribute to the treatment and management of a wide range of conditions.

Osteopaths primarily work through the neuro-musculo-skeletal system, mostly on muscles and joints, using holistic and patient centered approaches to restore the optimal functioning of the body.

Core principles of osteopathy are the ideas that every part of the body is integrated as a whole, and it has the ability to heal itself. This can be utilized as part of the treatment. No part of the body works, or can be considered, in isolation.

Osteopaths patient-centered approach to health and well-being means that we consider symptoms in the context of the patient's full medical history, as well as their lifestyle and personal circumstances. This approach ensures that all treatment is tailored to the individual.
